The Tramex RWS Roof and Wall Scanner is a
multi-mode hand-held moisture detection instrument designed for use in non-destructive
moisture scanning, leak tracing and surveying in building envelopes, including non-conductive
single-ply membranes, built-up roofing, foam and modified roofing systems and Exterior
Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS).The Tramex RWS Roof and Wall Scanner is a combination of Tramex’s
Leak-Seeker and WWD Wet Wall Detector, incorporating all of the features and benefits
of both these popular instruments into one.
The RWS offers dual operating modes for Roofing and EIFS.
Each of these modes has two sensitivity ranges for both deep penetration and
low penetration sensitivity enabling the user to scan EIFS and roofing with a
signal penetration ranging from the surface up to approximately 4 inches. The
RWS non-destructively evaluates moisture and traces leaks back to the source.
The RWS works by measuring electrical impedance, transmitting
harmless signals from the electrodes at the base of the instrument into the
area under test. These signals measure the variation in electrical impedance, which
is translated into a relative moisture content reading and displayed instantly on
the large analog dial. The readings are immediate and continuous. The RWS is
also fitted with an audible device that generates sounds at high readings.
The RWS is lightweight, easy and fast to use and can be
operated with one single hand. The unit runs on one 9 volt battery, and comes
with a leather carrying case.
