19.53.Building Energy Efficiency Performance Standards.

(a) Residential construction (single family). Effective on 1/01/2012 the International Residential Code energy efficiency provisions as they existed on 5/1/2009, are the adopted and utilized energy codes in Texas for singlular family residential construction as defined in the Health and Safety Code, 388.002(12).

(b) All other industrial, commercial, and residential construction. Effective 4/1/2011, the International Energy Conservation Code as it existed on 5/1/2009, is the adopted and utilized energy code in Texas for all industrial, commercial, and residential construction that isn't residential single family construction under subsection(a) of this section.
