Balometer Flow Hoods
The volume of air emerging from grilles and diffusers is a critical measurement in HVAC systems. Such measurements were traditionally taken using a deflecting vane anemometer with a diffuser probe and applying the diffuser manufacturer’s “Ak” factors. Capture hoods have replaced the deflecting vane anemometer with diffuser probes due to their ease of use, quick measurements, and near elimination of the need to apply grille manufacturers “Ak” factors.
