Work positioning belts and lanyards are designed to secure the user safely in position at the point of work. They are not designed to arrest a free fall. Use a harness if a risk of a free fall is present.
ANSI approved body device designed for fall protection, which by reason of its attachment to a lanyard and safety line or structure will limit a fall to 6' or less. A full harness is the most widely preferred device for fall prevention in lift devices. Safety belts can be used as “positioning devices” in the type of lift equipment, where employees will stand with both feet on the floor of the bucket or platform. These are also an acceptable alternative to harnesses only in this application.
Aerial lifts have passive fall protection systems, such as bucket or rail systems, where the purpose of the belt is to keep the occupant(s) in the device upon impact, not to keep them from falling out of it.
Body belt (safety belt) means a strap with purpose both for securing it around the waist area and for securing it to a deceleration device, lifeline, or lanyard .
Use body belts for inspection work, construction and demolition, maintenance, oil production, and any other activities where you need to be restrained from a leading edge or where there is NO possibility of a vertical free fall. Also, it is easy to add a body belt to most harnesses for added back support and versatility.
Remember, NEVER use body belts in situations where there is any chance of a free fall!

Restraint lanyards are primarily used for travel restriction and work positioning. Lanyards for travel restriction are used to restrain a worker from reaching a fall hazard. Lanyards for work positioning are used for stabilizing a worker at an elevation. They can be ordered in adjustable lengths or in fixed lengths . Each lanyard comes with a zinc plated, self locking, forged steel snaphook attached on both ends. Meets ANSI and OSHA standards.

Rebar chain assembly used for positioning. Comes with two locking snap hooks and one locking rebar hook.
